He pioneered risk-based contracting arrangements in the ’90s, managing PHOs, health plans and management companies through the design and implementation of a variety of capitation arrangements while co-authoring the book, Physician Empowerment through Capitation, published in 2000 by Wolters Kluwer Law & Business.
Cliff’s early career included working for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Towers Watson (formerly Towers Perrin) and two provider-sponsored health plan start-ups.
Cliff holds a B.A. degree in Political Science from UCLA and a Master in Health Administration from the University of Michigan.

• Health-Savvy - program management service that develops and manages consumer engagement with value-based providers.
• DestinationRX (now Connecture) - a provider of web-based prescription drug transparency and Medicare health plan comparison/enrollment services.
• Optum - United Health Group’s healthcare informatics division that markets technology and consulting solutions to health plans, employers and providers.
John began his career in Procter & Gamble’s corporate development program for sales and marketing executives. He holds a B.S. in Marketing degree from San Diego State University.
Extensive experience leading strategic organizational change as a CFO and COO of a large, multi-market healthcare system, as an entrepreneur, and as a Big Four management consultant.
As CFO then COO, created and managed Ascension Health’s East Region, a $3 billion, 13 location health system in seven states. Revenue and profitability quadrupled during Mike’s tenure. He is a co-creator of 15 integrated provider networks, including four ranked among the most highly integrated networks in the eastern U.S. Mike led the acquisition, sale or joint venture of more than 70 hospital, physician, post-acute care and other healthcare providers and payers, with a total transaction value over $3 Billion.
Mike began his career working for Ernst & Young and holds a M.S. in Organizational Psychology from the Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School and a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
Mr. Pezzoli has over 30 years of experience in health system management including extensive experience in Executive and Board Management, Operations, Program Development, Quality Improvement, Financial Management and Physician Relations.
He most recently served as advisor and Vice President, HealthCare Access Maryland, Inc. which provides Case Management to vulnerable populations. He reorganized HCAM’s operations, business and fiscal practices, growing revenue and improving operating performance.
Mr. Pezzoli was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Temple University Health System in Philadelphia. Prior he was an executive with Ascension Health where he held positions of increasing responsibility including COO and CEO of the Baltimore system.
Holds BS in Social Studies from St. Vincent College, MPH from the University of Pittsburgh and Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives.
Previously a healthcare senior executive, Susan is currently an innovation consultant that has accumulated extensive experience and knowledge in healthcare strategic development and execution, business development, and operational excellence. Having worked for more than 25 years in behavioral, medical, and population health settings, she has a broad perspective and vision to support organizations and businesses grow new revenue through innovative offerings in new and emerging markets. As healthcare delivery evolves, she has demonstrated great leadership and collaboration ability with internal and external stakeholders while developing proficiency in product and service development through incubation and commercialization for the portfolio of the day after tomorrow and beyond.
